5 Cleaning Tips for Your Bathroom

The weekly bathroom cleaning can be a dreaded task, but we can all agree it's an important one. The last thing anyone wants is to feel dirty in a place where you're supposed to feel clean and relaxed. Luckily, there are ways to make this arduous task a little easier.

Here are a few tips that can help you get your bathroom cleaned faster and easier- with items you may already have lying about at home!

Apply Shaving Cream to Your Mirrors

Using shaving cream on your mirrors may seem counterintuitive, but it works wonders. The foam can actually create a protective layer over your mirrors which stops them from fogging up! It’s super handy, especially for long warm showers when the bathroom becomes steamy.

To achieve this, simply spray on the shaving foam, and then use some kitchen roll to polish it off. This effect can last multiple weeks, as long as the mirror doesn’t get splashed with water. Just don’t use too much shaving cream!

Use a Dish Brush for Different Surfaces

Contrary to the name, a dish brush can be useful for much more than just the dishes. Mixing equal parts of dish soap and white vinegar in your dish brush can be an easy and effective way to clean your entire bathroom, from mildew to dirt and dust.

This hack is also handy for getting those hard-to-clean places, like corners and edges and the spaces between tiles. You can wipe over the mixture with a wet cloth afterwards, and it will leave your bathroom looking spotless.

Make Your Bathroom Smell Great

We all know that sometimes, unpleasant smells can come from the bathroom. Sometimes, using an air freshener isn’t enough. Luckily, there’s a way to get a bathroom that smells nice and clean, without spraying chemicals everywhere.

You can simply put an essential oil of your choice on some cotton, and place that on the bottom of your bin, under the bin bag. This should help your bathroom smell better for longer, and counteract some of the smells that can come from the bin. You can also do this inside the toilet paper roll, for a longer-lasting effect.

Clean Your Shower Head with Vinegar

The hard water from your shower can cause a buildup of limescale to form on the shower head. This is a problem because then all of that dirt buildup can get on you while you’re showering, which defeats the purpose of showering in the first place.

There is an easy way to get rid of this limescale buildup. You can pour white vinegar into a bag, such as a food bag, and tie it around your shower head, leaving it on for half an hour. After this, rinse your shower to get rid of the dirt. This should leave your shower head looking shiny and brand new!

Baking Soda to the Rescue

Baking soda can be a very effective cleaning product. It is cheap and convenient, as most people already have it in their kitchen. It's also a lot safer than some chemicals. One example where it shines is toilet cleaning.

You can create a paste of baking soda and vinegar to clean your toilet efficiently. All you need to do is scrub the mixture along the toilet bowl with a brush, and then flush to clean it off. This should leave your toilet clean and fresh- with less fuss!
